Off the Mat

THE STILLPOINT OF SUMMER

This summer has been full — long stretches of heat, sudden thunderstorms, and everything in between. The green around us feels brighter than ever, and I want to savor every moment in the summer sun.

Even with all the busyness, we've still managed to come together to practice — online, in person, and on retreat. Each gathering has reminded me why this work matters: not just the poses, but the presence we cultivate together.

In the midst of a full summer, I keep returning to the idea of the stillpoint — that quiet center that exists even in the midst of movement. Sarvangasana, the shoulder stand, is a pose that embodies this: the body inverted, the breath slow, the mind drawn inward. A pause inside the fullness.

I hope you find your own stillpoint this summer — in practice, in nature, in the quiet moments between.

With care,
