My older son has been sent back home for distance learning after a month of them returning to school. I had just gotten into my new groove, checking off a list of all the things I had set aside to parent instead of work over the last 6 months of the pandemic. Now, I need to place my work and it feels as though myself back on the backburner. If I don't make time to meet my own needs my family will suffer and I know this, so moving into these two weeks I have a choice... To make the time or not? It has been said time and again...We have to feed our own souls before we can give our fullest to others.
My GO TO poses when I am short on time and need a reset
If you are able to invert, my tried and true is sirsasana
(head stand.) If you need the wall for support please place the knuckles against the wall to protect your neck and spine.
Please only do this asana under the following conditions:
If inversions in their classical form are not for you because you are menstruating, have not been taught yet, have a neck injury or optical issue, then we will support your head in a relaxing forward extension, you may appreciate a folded blanket on the chair, counter or couch to rest your brain for a few minutes in ardha uttanasana
Grab a favorite mocktail to indulge in the afternoon
Add 2-3 oz kombucha and a few ice cubes to your favorite cup
I am passionate about helping others be in touch with thier bodies and spirit. I want to offer opportunities for others to have easy at home remedies for issues that arise in life (stress, fatigue, pain, overwhelm etc...) I strive to offer balance in times when we are out of alignment with our authentic selves.
